Prepare to Party
Preapre to PartyThe party season is nearly upon us and we want to look great for all the forth coming events, but with lots to do; Christmas shopping, busy work schedules we need a bit of cosmetic help from some of the many beauty products available.

The key to looking good this winter and for all the Christmas parties ahead is good skin preparation. Get into the habit of a great skin care routine and invest in products to bring results. Cleansing is key; nothing quite beats a wash off cleanser for removing the days make up; a facial scrub is a must for removing pure clogging impurities and dry skin. A toner will revitalise skin and moisturiser and eye cream are essential for keeping your skin hydrated, moist and ready for make up.

At this time of year we tend to need a bit more help from our foundation so tinted moisturisers for any of us with less than perfect skin are best saved for the summer months. Select a foundation which gives a bit more coverage and is suitable for your skin type, those which offer moisture are a good choice unless you have an oilier skin and then an oil free matt foundation is a good option.

After applying your foundation you will see where you need concealer if any; use a light reflecting formula for under eye circles and a creamier more opaque one for any blemishes. Fix your foundation with a face powder which will prolong it into the early hours.

Then the choice is the kind of look you want to go for, the key should be to decide which of your features you would like to accentuate whether it be your eyes or your lips. Whichever your choice you should play down the other, if you go for Smokey eyes play down your blusher and lips and if you go for bold keep your eyes more natural to avoid looking over done. Unless of course you go for one of the key looks this season; the 1940’s bold and dramatic screen siren look of red lips and black eye liner on a pale and matt base which breaks down all the rules. This look is really not a look for the shy and retiring types as you will not go unnoticed.
